ICC Men's T20 World Cup has been organised by the International Cricket Council since 2007, typically in a span of every two years. During each tournament, an insane wave of cricket takes over the country, with all Indians rooting for our extraordinary team. This year, the 9th edition will be held from 2nd June 2024 to 29th June 2024, co-hosted by the USA and West Indies - with excitement levels rising like never before! ICC Men's T20 World Cup: Quick Overview

When the Benson & Hedges Cup ended in 2002, the England and Wales Cricket Board realised the need for another one-day tournament to cope with the dwindling interest in cricket of the newer generations. Then, the ICC T20 World Cup was first organised internationally in 2007 with the intention of creating further hype.

So far, considering the tournaments till 2022, 8 editions have been held so far and 21 teams have competed for the glory. South Africa won the first edition in 2007, whereas Australia won the last one in 2022. Only the West Indies and England have won more than once, each having two accolades. Let us look at the T20 World Cup for 2024 now.

The Super 12 rounds will begin on June 19, whereas the semi-finals will be held on June 27, followed by the final on June 29. This year, the West Indies and the USA will be hosting the tournament together with a total of 20 teams participating. According to the calendar, the tournament would include a total of 55 matches over a 29-day span. 40 matches will be held in the first set, 12 matches under "Super Eight", 2 semi-finals, and 1 final. Of course, only the schedule for the first 40 has been released so far.

The T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to have 16 matches scheduled in Lauderhill, Dallas, and New York. 41 matches will take place in the Caribbean throughout 6 islands, with the semifinals in Trinidad, Tobago and Guyana, and the very last final in Barbados.
