Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) declared that from 1st February 2021, their revised discount scheme for Government employees for Landline, Broadband Bharat fiber would be effective PAN INDIA. BSNL allows a 5% discount for Central and State government employees or PSU employees in monthly packs.

The discount limit on the purchase of any broadband plan is set at Rs. 300 only. This offer is not applicable to the MTNL areas of Mumbai and Delhi.

The telecom operator recently announced that the discount will be available for customers who have opted for Air Fiber or Bharat Fiber connections of BSNL. The maximum discount available under this would be limited to 40% of the total plan price.

The user will have to purchase a plan of Rs 599 min Fixed Monthly Charges (FMCs) to get this offer. For example as a Junior Telecom Officer at BSNL, you get the following Broadband/landline perks:

1. Post-paid Mobile connection - Plan price – Rs.525, with 500 MB of data, usage of Rs. 700 free, which is rent-free.
2. Landline connection with 650 calls free.
3. 60% discount on Broadband connections.

The Revised BSNL Government Employee Discount Scheme

The revised scheme indicates that a 10% discount will be applicable on monthly rentals for Government and PSU employees. This is applicable for both current and retired employees and can be availed by Central Government and State Government Employees.

To avail of BSNL 10% Government Employee Discount Scheme:

• As a Serving Employees: For current/serving employees, you need to submit a request for a 10% discount under the Government or PSU Employees category along with an employment certificate, your Employee Identity card with an attested copy, and an attested copy of the payslip that has been countersigned by a disbursing officer in any BSNL Customer Service Centre.
• As a Retired Employee: For retired Government/PSU employees, you need to submit your request for a discount along with an attested copy of the pension book or Pensioner Identity Card along with a requisition in any nearby BSNL Customer Service Centre to avail of the 10% discount.

If you already have BSNL Bharat Fiber (FTTH) Services and want to avail of the discount scheme as a government employee, you can still do so by following the steps mentioned above.

This discount scheme is applicable to existing and new customers of BSNL in all telecom circles PAN India. It will only be enabled to the users who have submitted the request for the Government Employee discount scheme along with the required supporting documents as mentioned above. The discount will automatically be applied to the next bill.

Who Cannot Avail BSNL’s Government Employee Discount

Any customer/employee of Bharat Fiber / DSL broadband who is registered under Annual / Two Year / Three-year subscription is not eligible for the discount scheme, as the yearly subscription discount is higher than the employee discount.

Employees of any Private organization are also not allowed for the 10% discount scheme offered by BSNL either.
